Reimagining Newspapers

The term “reimagining” is being used today to describe remakes that take a new direction. I made a presentation to a large group of Western Kentucky University J students on Monday, September 8th, 08.

Living in a “Digital World” was the topic of the presentation. According to a new report from the American Press Institute, the future of newspapers may not be newspapers. Their findings support the fact that newspaper revenues are down for most daily newspapers. The report cites many reason for the decline, but loss of ad revenue is a primary factor. API recommends that newspapers will need to reimagine their business model and see themselves as more of a news and marketing service.
